A pediatric dentist is a dentist who is specialized in pediatric dentistry and has studied unique oral health needs for infants, children, and adolescents, including those with special health care needs. Only after completing four years of dental school, a pediatric dentist will then move on to a specialized training program. This pediatric dental training adds two more years onto the degree to prepare pediatric dentists to meet all of the unique needs a child may have. Once a pediatric dentist has completed all of his/her training, he/she will be equipped with knowledge and experience to provide any child, from as young as an infant to as old as an adolescent, the dental care they need to stay healthy. We focus on prevention, early detection and treatment of dental disease, and keep current with the latest advances in dentistry for your child. We are also trained to monitor the development and growth of children. But most importantly, we are trained to see the world through the eyes of a child.
